What they share

Both are aluminum pergolas with aluminum louvers, built-in gutters, 90 degree louver rotation and no curtains or netting. Both carry a 1 year warranty. Neither states a snow load, per square foot or as a total, so neither appears on our snow list. If you live where snow falls, ask the maker for a rating before you buy either one.

The real differences

Price is the main gap. At 10' x 12' the Kozyard costs $819.02 less than the Athena. At 12' x 16' the Kozyard is $2,047.50 and the Purple Leaf is $3,499, a difference of $1,451.50 for the same 192 sq ft.
