The short version
Across all 50 models, the lowest price we track for each runs from $649.99 to $7,499. The typical (median) price is $2,449 and the average is $2,974.73. A group of expensive louvered pergolas pulls the average up, so the median is the better number to plan around. Where a model is sold in more than one shop, we use the lowest price.

Price per square foot
Dividing each price by its covered area gives a cost per square foot. Across all 50 models the median is $16.91. By type:
| Type | Median covered area | Median price per sq ft | Lowest | Highest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Louvered pergola | 168 sq ft | $18.65 | $10.00 | $42.37 |
| Hardtop gazebo | 132 sq ft | $9.08 | $5.36 | $17.70 |
The lowest price per square foot among louvered pergolas is the Domi 10' x 20' at $10.00 for 200 sq ft. The highest is the Mirador 140DA Sky at $42.37. Among hardtop gazebos the lowest is the Domi Wall-Mounted 12' x 16' at $5.36 for 192 sq ft. The highest is the Paragon Santa Monica 10' x 12' at $17.70.
Larger models usually cost less per square foot, but the total price still rises. A pergola that is cheap per foot can be the more expensive purchase if you buy more area than you use.
What to compare at each budget

- $3,000 and up: Paragon, Mirador and Purple Leaf pergolas, the large sizes, and the models with higher stated snow loads. See large pergolas and pergolas for snow.
What else to budget for
The price of the structure is not the price of the project. We do not have a sourced dollar figure for these items, so get quotes before you buy:
- Delivery, which can be heavy and bulky.
- A concrete pad, deck or other level base.
- Assembly, if you do not build it yourself.
- Permits, which depend on your town.
- Curtains, netting or screens that are not included.

How these numbers were made
Prices come from the shop pages linked on each model page. We take each model's lowest price and the maker's stated covered area, then compute the figures above from those 50 values. Models without enough data for a full comparison are not counted.
